In order to reuse by-products from manufacturing processes, our client was looking into working with local Tanzanian soap businesses to not only reduce pollution and negative environmental impact but to assist small and home-based businesses with more opportunities for growth.
Project Scope & Research Process
- Select and approach 5 small soap manufacturers from 4 major cities in Tanzania
- Obtain information on the company’s profile, product capacity and distribution channels through interviews
- Learn about their soap manufacturing process, including the equipment and raw materials used, through ethnography research
- Conduct online interviews with experts via web-conferencing tools
- Gather videos and pictures of the manufacturing processes for evaluation purposes
